Meticulous Documentation Virtually all the items listed in the table of contents for the new 'Wealth and Industry' section of the 1870 Census are new. Data is included on debt, livestock, manufacturing, mining, fishing, mills and occupations. A brand new 'Statistical Atlas' is released at the same time, containing dozens of maps showing population density, geology, weather, crops, rainfall, storms, taxation, disease, temperature and wealth. Graphical data is also included to show the distribution of blindness, deafness, autism, death, nationality, idiocy and insanity. Amazing.

	Occupation Listings The 1870 Census includes 700 pages of data, giving historians the ability to map almost every element of industrial activity, sometimes down to the county level. It shows almost every business imaginable, including not only the number of establishments, but also the number of steam engines or waterwheels, hands employed, capitalization, wages and sales. Even the horsepower of the equipment is documented. Well done.
	Industry Listings The 1870 Census documents a quarter of a million business establishments across the country, with specific data for power systems, employees, wages, materials and products, including dollar totals, where appropriate.
	Manufacturing Listings Listings for manufacturers are broken down by industry, and are similarly detailed, including dollar amounts for capital invested and annual wages.
	Farming Listings Farm listings include total production for each crop, plus information on livestock.
	Mining Listings Listings for mines are broken down by mineral and process, along with the normal business information categories.
